As of Fall 2024, Stashpad is no longer operating.
Stashpad was a startup that aimed to create better notes and docs tooling for a technical audience.
Our first product, Stashpad Lists, was a personal notepad designed for our fellow software developers. A central part of the philosophy behind this product was "capture now, organize later". We viewed the personal notepad as your go-to place for jotting things down - like an inbox - and wanted to make it easy to later triage notes to other locations as needed. The goal was to encourage "good enough" organization, rather than over-organizing, and keep friction in note-taking to a minimum. To this end, Stashpad Lists prioritized speed and a keyboard-driven experience.
Our second product, Stashpad Docs, was a minimal Google Docs alternative with markdown support and no account required. We wanted to make it as seamless as possible to spin up a new document and jump into the same document with others. The product was stripped down to the essentials, with a focus on an excellent writing and collaborating experience.
Overall, Stashpad was about removing friction from our day-to-day and providing daily tools that are delightful to use.
While we did not reach business viability, we learned a tremendous amount. We're grateful to everyone who has supported us throughout the journey.
